On August 23, 2021 at 7 PM, the San Diego Writers and Editors Guild will host its beloved Open Mic Night. Fifteen writers will share their work. The reading will begin promptly at 7 PM.
Rebecca Jane will serve as your MC.
If you would like to read at the open mic event, please follow these steps
- Email your name, title and genre of the piece you will read to Rebecca Jane ( winebowl@gmail.com )
- Practice to be sure your piece is five minutes or less.
- Practice again to be sure that you do not exceed five minutes.
Please send your email no later than August 12. Rebecca will compile a list of readers in the order she receives them. First come, first served.
Please be aware that each reader will be given only five minutes to read. Practicing your reading presentation is important. Again, keep your reading to the five-minute time limit so that everyone has a chance to share. If you exceed the time, we will need to ask you to stop. Keeping your reading to the time limit is a nice way to show your support for your fellow readers.
Those who attend the open mic will have the opportunity to provide helpful feedback to the readers. This is always a fun and supportive event, so thank you for attending.
Our monthly meetings start with a Marketing Support Group Meeting at 5.30 PM, signing in and networking at 6:30 PM, followed by a short business meeting at 6:45 PM, and the presentation begins at 7 PM
Invitations with the Zoom meeting information will be sent to registrants in advance of the meeting.
