Joining the Guild opens up a world of possibility. Whether you want to publish for the first time or work on your craft with fellow writers, there are programs to suit you.

Monthly meetings and Presentations

Learn valuable information about the art of writing, editing, publishing, marketing, and much more (no charge for members, nominal charge for guests). Most presentations are hosted on Zoom, with occasional in-person meetings each year.

Author Marketing Support Group

Selling your book has plenty of challenges and SDWEG will help you along the way, including with our monthly author marketing support group followed by Q&A and discussion.

Anthology

A compilation of themed, imaginative short stories, poems, and essays written by SDWEG members has been published every year since 2012. All members are invited to submit writings for consideration. Selected members are invited to read at the launch of the anthology.

Manuscript Critique program

Having fresh eyes on your manuscript is useful, especially when it's from experienced fellow writers and editors. SDWEG members get the opportunity to draw on that expertise for a nominal added fee.

workshops

The Guild offers opportunities to delve deeper with greater participation in interactive workshops from writing and editing experts. Be prepared to share your work or do some writing in the workshops. Nonmembers pay the cost of membership to take part and become a member of the Guild.
