Determining what your protagonist wants is often the most important and difficult task a writer encounters, but the entire story hinges on it. In this presentation, we will look at the ways in which plot and character intersect. We will “play detective” with our characters in order to determine what matters most to them, and then use those driving motivations to shape plots with deep emotional stakes.
