The Friends of the Library of the San Diego Central Library have invited San Diego Writers and Editors Guild to be the July Author of the Month based on our submission of the SDWEG Anthology, The Guilded Pen--New Beginnings to the 2023 Local Author Exhibit. The committee that coordinates the Author of the Month program selects twelve of the best books submitted and invites the authors, or in this case, co-authors, for a presentation at the beautiful downtown library. The organizers choose our submission as one of twelve in a field of over 200 submissions!
We have invited five of our members to read their submissions in either the 2022 or 2023 anthologies on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Courtyard at the entrance to the San Diego Central Library.
This event is an opportunity for us to celebrate all the members who have submitted to our anthologies going back to the first one in 2012. It is also an opportunity for us to get together in person once more than we had expected in 2024. Come and bring your family and friends to this free event where you can mingle and network with other Guild members and the public.
We will provide refreshments. The Guild will provide prizes through a drawing among all who attend.
Parking is available on the lower levels of the Central Library. Be sure to validate your parking stub on the first floor at the entrance when you arrive. The Library can also be reached using San Diego’s Trolley system. Take the Blue Line or Orange Line to Park & Market Trolley Station or the Green Line to Imperial Transit Center.
Don’t miss this unexpected opportunity to get together with other SDWEG members and the Board.
