MANUSCRIPT CRITIQUE PROGRAM Having fresh eyes on your manuscript is useful, especially when it's from experienced fellow writers and editors. SDWEG members get the opportujity to draw on that expertise for a nominal extra fee. | MONTHLY NEWSLETTER Get caught up on the latest news of the Guild through The Guilded Newsletter, which includes upcoming events, members' recent book publications and awards, and much more. Access to the newsletter is limited to logged-in members. | ANTHOLOGY SUBMISSIONS A compilation of themed, imaginative short stories, poems, and essays written by SDWEG members has been published annually since 2012. All members are invited to submit writings for consideration. Selected members are invited to read at the launch of the anthology. |
MONTHLY MEETINGS AND PRESENTATIONS Learn valuable information about the art of writing, editing, publishing, marketing, and much more (no charge for members, nominal charge for guests). Most presentations are hosted on Zoom with occasional in-person meetings each year. |
Selling your book presents plenty of challenges and SDWEG will help you along the way, including with ouro monthly author marketing support group followed by Q&A and discussion. | WORKSHOPS The Guild offers opportunities to delve deeper with greater participation in interactive workshops from writing and editing experts. Be prepared to share your work or do some writing in the workshops. Nonmembers pay the cost of membership to take part and become a member of the Guild. |

Richard Carrico's new book, El Presidio de San Diego, Excavating Southern California's Lost City, is available to preorder on Amazon and will be widely available through various booksellers October 21. Richard has scheduled several book signings and presentations in November, December, January, and February. His first major signing/book launch will be November 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the Serra Museum in Presidio Park. The free event is sponsored by the San Diego History Center. |

Poet Jane Muschenetz has been awarded first place in the 2025 National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) Professional Communications Contest for her poetry collection, POWER POINT. The contest is one of the nation’s most respected competitions for communicators, drawing nearly 2,000 entries this year, spanning online and print journalism, poetry, broadcasting, and multimedia storytelling. POWER POINT has been praised as both intellectually sharp and emotionally accessible, connecting everyday life with universal themes of justice, survival, and joy.
